FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The convention is expected to bring hundreds of young Democrats to Raleigh. The convention will feature the annual awards luncheon, guest speakers from across the country, political trainings for Young Democrats, caucus and committee meetings, and elections for YDNC, CDNC, and the North Carolina Association of Teen Democrats (NCATD). 2016 features several young democrats on the ballot in North Carolina, and the organizations are intent on expanding their leadership throughout the state.
“The Young Democrats of North Carolina spent the past year assuming leadership roles by winning elected offices and providing strong and effective leadership on a variety of issues impacting our state. No partisan organization has done more to train the next generation of civic leaders,” said Justin Conley, YDNC President. “I’m excited for what our organizations will together accomplish to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2016, and it all starts in Raleigh.”
The 2016 convention marks the first time in several years that the convention has been held in the capital city. The Wake County Young Democrats and the NC State University College Democrats will serve as host chapters for the convention.
The awards luncheon will begin at noon on April 2nd. Rooms for attendees are available at discounted rates at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel. More information can be found on ydcon16.com
